ARREST MADE FOR DRUNK & DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR

Dear resident.

Today whilst out on patrol, PS Andy Holian was flagged down by a member of staff at ABACO Café on the High Street, Uppermill; A person was present in the establishment, intoxicated and refusing to leave when asked to do so. 

This person was requested to leave and became abusive, swearing and later making threats towards the Police. He was subsequently arrested for the offence of being drunk and disorderly in a public place and conveyed to custody. 

This is an example that your local Neighbourhood Policing Team will take the appropriate action when dealing with such incidents and reports from our local community. 

We are here to ensure your safety and that of the people who work in our local businesses. 

We encourage all to report incidents of this nature to us, so that we can act and continue to make Saddleworth and Lees a safer place to live and work.
